    Cary Johnson is executive director of the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC), Sass Rogando Sasot has been a transgender rights activist in the Philippines and Europe since she was 19, and Dorothy Sander is a philanthropist and Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at IGLHRC. They come from different walks of life, but they share the common desire to see equality for all LGBT people around the world.   • Mike Schaefer: Where Do You Find Hope?

    Mike Schaefer recounts the fear, anger, and disappointment he encountered as a young gay man coming of age in the 1980’s. After the personal loss of acquaintances, friends, and loved ones to HIV/AIDS and suicide, Mike stood up and took action to give a voice to LGBT people everywhere. Today, through his philanthropic giving and the giving of other like-minded individuals, Mike is grateful and hopeful for the future.
